Teaching & Research

Teaching

I have been a demonstrator in neuro-anatomy and a lecturer at Brighton & Sussex Medical School. I have lectured on sleep disorders nationally. I currently lecture to Medical Students on the Neueoscience & behaviour module at Brighton & Sussex Medical School. I also give regular lectures to GP’s and teach Neurology to training grade Neurologists.

Research

I have published laboratory-based research in Parkinson’s Disease at The Institute of Neurology, The Parkinson’s Disease Society Brain Bank & in London. This involved the use of in situ hybridization of neurotransmitter mRNAs in various brain basal ganglia regions in post-mortem Parkinson’s disease brains. I am currently undertaking studies in patients with the non-REM parasomnia spectrum (sleep walking, night terrors, confusional arousals etc).
