Experience & Expertise

I have been a Consultant Neurologist in Sussex since 1997. I have a broad range of neurological interests & experience. I have particular expertise in Sleep Disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, Movement Disorders, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, immune-mediated neurological conditions and HIV-Neurology.

Clinical Style

My practice (both NHS & Private) is focused on providing opinions and management advice plans on un-selected new patient referrals. My interests and experience span the full range of neurological conditions and many areas of neuroscience. The core of my practice centres on making accurate diagnoses before the results of investigations are available, organizing investigations in a timely fashion and giving my patients a clear and reassuring explanation of their symptoms and disorder

General Medical Training

I trained at Nottingham as a medical student and houseman and completed my general medical training in Manchester and in Mansfield.

I trained in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queen Square (London), the University Hospital Nottingham and the University Hospital of Wales. I was fortunate to be taught by some great Clinical Neurologists including Dr Gerald Stern, Professors Andrew Lees, Simon Shorvon & John Duncan, the late Professors David Marsden, Anita Harding, P.K. Thomas and Ian McDonald.
